What is the future of Pink Lake?

Last week, there were multiple spontaneous attempts to use AI to predict the future of Torrevieja's Laguna Salada, better known as Laguna Rosa, after news broke that Torrevieja City Council was going to sign an agreement with the Nueva Compañía Arrendataria de las Salinas de Torrevieja (New Torrevieja Salt Flats Leasing Company) to set up a bathing and thalassotherapy area in the lagoon.

The project to regulate tourist access to this unique natural site, as well as to create a space that promotes body care practices and sensory experiences related to the sea, is ambitious and seeks to raise the profile of the city of Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, taking advantage of this gift that our vast expanse offers to the city, its residents and its visitors.

We have seen sequence shots with wooden walkways leading to idyllic wooden cabins, families jumping for joy and splashing each other with water, couples enjoying a refreshing snack in the shade, and even the most daring have ventured to put our mayor, Don Eduardo Dolón, in his underwear as he jumps into the saltwater pool. The people of Torrevieja, as always, are showing off their characteristic Spanish humour, taking advantage of the fact that the meme is now, fortunately or unfortunately, available to everyone and not just the creative minds of the two agencies.

At Castillo Homes, the message is clear: anything that benefits our city, while respecting what makes it special, deserves to be valued, recognised and dignified, so much so that we are proposing a Castillo Homes branch in the complex. We therefore hope to receive news soon on the status of the agreement, which will allow us to look beyond AI to what is already the future of Torrevieja.
